School life is all about academic classes, extracurricular activities and making certain that knowledge is gained in every way possible, whether through studies or fun. It is important for a student to ensure that he is working hard in middle school and high school, as this would set a solid base for college and universities. Secondary and post-secondary education includes having diverse kinds of academic experience that students are able to attain once they move towards higher classes (grade 6 and above).

Secondary Education

Secondary education mainly refers to the schooling that is carried out in middle and high school. The grades in focus are usually sixth and twelfth grade. There are numerous subjects that are in focus in this education, but the major highlight is on English, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, and Social Studies. In some countries’ education system, music or drama is also made part of the secondary education. The education system of the United States of America is focused on providing education to all. For this purpose, the public secondary education is free and available to all. The government has made certain that secondary education is compulsory for all individuals through the age of 16.

Post-Secondary

The post-secondary or tertiary education comprises of diverse educational programs or cheap essay writing help that is taken once the secondary education is completed. This form of education is usually carried out in community college, professional certification, undergraduate education, and graduate education. One key aspect to note is that post-secondary education is considered to be highly advanced and specialized than that of secondary education. Purposes of Secondary and Post-Secondary Schooling

Post-secondary education aim is to develop the skills and expertise of students which would help them in their careers.

Equality and Access

Although the government of the United States is focused on ensuring that every individual is educated, the income inequality tends to hamper this effort. Children from low-income families are not able to get secondary public education either. At the most, they are able to opt for poorly performing schools which gets almost no funding. Moreover, the access to post-secondary education opportunities is limited for children from low-income families, causing them to struggle in their life for any suitable professional career.

An interesting point to note is that in the United States, the number of women attaining post-secondary education is more than that of men in the country. However, owing to gender inequality, when it comes to job opportunities, men are given more preferences even if comparatively women are found to be more qualified.
